as i redesign my website. It has been a few years and I really wanted to redo the website for a while now. I have gone through design after design and nothing was hitting me very well. I had one design I liked. It was based on the Hemingway Theme but the problem was that the menu system that i came up with wasn’t very functional. Ever since wordpress 2.1 when you could put the blog page on a separate page and make the home page something else I have wanted to do this redesign. Well here it is, hope you like it so far.
Oh and if you are using IE6…Please for the sake of all that is good and peaceful in the world go get a real browser!! (Cause after I get close to finishing you won’t be able to see the design as i intended it at all).
Well i rediscovered Flock today. They have added a ton of new stuff. The interface is a lot better.
Blogged with Flock
I just saw this tonight and loved it. They are so dead on its not funny. I especially like #6:
6. This one is going to get me in trouble. If you are a print designer, and “do websites on the side”, STOP DOING websites and providing “advice” to your print clients about web design. Print design to web design is like designing an ad for a race car, and actually building and racing that race car. Don’t get me wrong, print is great and all, you make pretty pictures and wonderful messages crafted with great copy, but when it comes down to it, it’s still just a picture. People cannot buy the product with a print ad (yet), they can’t communicate with your business through a print ad. I can already here the grumbling coming from the print world, and look, it’s not that I don’t see a purpose for print advertising, just stick to print and don’t nose you’re way into a medium which you do not know and wouldn’t understand (same goes for general “geeks” who do websites ‘on the side’)
I also loved #8, you better go check out the post at josiahcole.com or be in trouble with the web design gods!
I just took the Web Design Survey at A List Apart. Go take it!!

Saw this wallpaper being touted on dl.tv the other day and loved it. The web is a fragile thing, lets use those standards we all love.
